Brief

Design a wearable car for 2060

Opportunity

As population density rises, expanding the road network becomes impractical, leading to a surge in shared mobility. How can we infuse emotional attachment, individual identity, and personalized features into shared mobility, specifically in the form of a wearable car?

Concept

In 2060, we crafted a wearable vehicle for our chosen brand BMW drawing from the adaptable essence of origami. This innovation allows owners to personalize both the exterior and interior, ensuring each vehicle embodies its owner's distinct identity. We predicted the needs of different user groups from the car for our envisioned scenarios, and envisaging their experiences within the evolving urban landscape and automotive technology of 2060.The exterior can adjust to accommodate diverse needs, with changing interior such as serving as a workspace, a resting area, a wellness retreat, or an entertainment hub.

What car means to people and to both of us?

A CAR OR MOVING HOME
  1. An atmosphere in itself- personalisation - comfort level - a separate environment
  2. Daily activities being continued in the car
  3. Driverless cars- time used productively

Way to redefine relationship between people and car?

Emphasizing Experiences Over Ownership:

Shifting the focus from car ownership to the experiences associated with transportation, such as seamless travel, comfort, and convenience. This could involve partnerships with entertainment or hospitality industries to enhance the overall travel experience.

A personalized space that can be freely used like one’s home or office. It can be used as an office space for work or as a personal space where one can enjoy various entertainment (watching movies, exercising, camping, etc.). It is not a single space, but a space that can change according to each person's taste or situation at that given time.

Predicting their experiences in car form their needs from our envisioned scenarios

Scenario 1
Paige is 40 years old. She is a curator. She has a busy schedule, travelling between cities, visiting artists and different sites. She is highly social, takes calls/meetings while travelling from one place to the other. And like to keep one day in the week to herself to relax and promote self-growth.

What might she need from Car?

She may seek opportunities to learn about diverse artistic languages and cultural nuances to foster better understanding and collaboration on Go

IOT devices providing real time info about surrounding

As Paige travels, the car provides real-time language and cultural assistance based on her surroundings. IoT sensors identify landmarks, street signs, or points of interest, and the car's interface offers contextual language translations, cultural insights, or historical background information. This interactive guidance would enable Paige to immerse herself in diverse cultural environments and enhance her learning experience on the go.

B2V technology suggests nearby cultural events based on her interest

Through Brain-to-Vehicle technology, integrated IoT sensors within the car can identify nearby cultural events, exhibitions, or performances aligned with Paige's interests. By interpreting Paige's brain signals, the vehicle can proactively suggests these cultural experiences, enhancing her opportunities for enrichment and collaboration.

Immersive technology creates a experience in car

If Paige expresses interest in a specific artistic monument, cultural tradition or local places eg-Local market, the car uses immersive technology to help her experience the following where she can deepen her understanding and collaboration opportunities.

Paige interact with native speakers and socalises

Paige interacts with virtual representations of artworks, cultural artifacts, or even attend virtual language exchange sessions with native speakers, all facilitated by the car's connectivity and ability to easily configure within smart city’s network & B2V technology

Scenario 2
He is a doctor. Living close to the hospital he works at around a 30 mins walk. Has to attend to late night emergencies. His schedule is not fixed and fluctuates a lot. He rarely gets time to meet up with his friends and family. Food habits are also not great due to the lack in time. He earns enough to spend on basic necessities and a little extra on leisurely activities.

What might she need from Car?

He seeks a way to preserve cherished moments with his children while he's away and to maintain a strong sense of connection with his family, even when separated physically. Furthermore, he may wish for his family to feel his presence in their everyday lives.

Data Collection from Car and House using IOT

By utilizing IoT sensors within the car's interior and integrating with smart home systems, the vehicle records and save moments, particularly involving Jack's children and Jack himself, directly into its database.

Detects & Stores significant moments about Jack and his children

The car's AI system intelligently detects and captures significant moments involving Jack's children and himself, such as laughter, smiles, habits, food preferences or meaningful interactions.Moment capture triggers automatically based on facial recognition, emotional cues, or predefined criteria set by Jack.

Immersive technology blurring the boundary

Through immersive technology, the car creates virtual experiences that allow Jack to feel as if he's spending quality time with his children, even when physically distant. With integrated displays ,VR headsets or IOTs, Jack can engage in activities like storytelling or virtual family dinners. The car's AI system synchronizes these experiences with real-time family interactions, fostering a sense of connection despite physical separation.

B2V technology to remain part of family's

B2V technology enhances the communication experience by interpreting emotional cues and facilitating more natural and empathetic interactions between Jack and his children. This seamless integration of technology into family life ensures that Jack remains an integral part of his family's daily experiences, fostering a stronger bond and enriching their collective memories

How the interior/Space of car will change based on their needs of workspace ,health and wellbeing, resting & refreshment, and entertainment
